On these original cabinet ( about 1820 ) was everything else in good condition, only on the door panels

the paint was starting to cheep off. We carefully patched the damaged areas to prepare it for the painting and antiquing.

Then paint has been matched to the original painting, the painting has been done in several layers,

after that a light antiquing over the "new" matched paint, the restoration is complete.

Quite often we still can find old furniture which are worth it to invest some time and effort

to bring it back to life. In these case a Kleister - painting technique

with a simple floral design has been chosen. At last a good antiquing adds some years and it looks like it,

it has been always that way.

Somebody must have tried to scratch off the paint of this oil painting.

With carefully matched colors -  the original has been saved.

This original fresco painting of " Assumption of Mary " is probably from1830 and was touched up in 1945 .

Unfortunately this was not done very well and some of the original colors had been changed.

As you can see, over time, the sun and rain faded the painting quite a bit.

Luckily the owners took a picture before

they applied the stucco on their home - so least we had something to work from.
