Box with ornamental design

As I did some decorative painting around the window in our studio, I thought this design would also be wonderful for a box.

I just had the right pine-box which would work perfectly for the painting.

The design itself is a positive-negative approach. It's an easy, quick project which I think you will enjoy painting.

The detailed pictures will lead you through the painting process.

Cheese and grapes on a tray

A tray is always a fun project, it gives you so many possibilities to decorate. I thought a trompe l'oeil painting with a cheese plate and silverware could make it to an unique piece.

On this project we mostly will work with the values of light and shadow, this will help us to achieve the desirable deep what we need to make our painting dimensional.

Besides painting our cheese-motive, you will get also familiar with an older Bauernmalerei-technique the "Veneer-painting" which has been whitely used on cabinets, chests and doors.

Baroque bentwood box

The original design for this bentwood box comes from 

a painted cabinet. I just modified it slightly to fit the form of 

the box. Besides the painting, it also involves two Bauernmalerei-techniques. Wood graining and antiquing - 

two favored techniques which were used to prepare 

a project for the final painting.
