PALETTE:
SO Sunset Orange W White B Black BC Buttercrunch
MIXTURES:
4 SO + BL 1:1 5. B + bit PP + little BC 6. B + little PP
BRUSHES:
#3 and #5 round
PREPARATION:
Apply 2 -3 coats with mix #1. Measure 1 1/2 inch from the top and the bottom and measure 1 inch from the sides.
2 - 3 coats of PP for the inside Panel, outline the panel with mix #6. Inside the line use mix #2
LEAVES: 2 Coats of RA, outline with mix #3, apply commastrokes with mix #2 to the leaves. Add
spacefilling commastrokes with mix #3
ROSES: Basecoat 2 coats with BC. Add mix #3 for the center and as the dividing strike between the
rosecenter body and the rose petal. Using mix #2 overstroke the center body starting in the middle, than the
left side and on to the right side. For the shaping of the petals overstroke by using mix #2. Start off with the left
petal, than the right petal and than the center.
PREPERATION FOR ANTIQUING AND FINISHING:
Apply 1 coat of varnish and let it dry over night ( the varnish will help to control the antiquing better and does not allow the
antiquing-mix to soak into the base }.
Prepare your own antiquing mixture with B + C (2:1), add water or retarder.
Immediately after the application , wipe off the paint with a soft rag. Increase the pressure to achieve some highlighted areas.
When dry apply 2 more coats of oil based polyurethane varnish.
